Services from GREEN DEPOT
Interested in building with some of the products we
distribute? Here are two ways GREEN DEPOT can assist
folks preparing to build with sustainability in mind:
As a distributor for many of the products you may want for your
energy and resource conserving building project, we would be happy
to supply you with estimates for any materials we provide at no
cost to you. You can then take those estimates to general
contractors who will in turn include our information in their
estimate/bid preparations along with the rest of your building needs.
Please note: we can only provide firm material quotes from complete,
final, engineered sets of plans.
As a green building consultant, we can also provide you with a more
in-depth service. Once your plans are drawn, we'll sit down together
to assist you in creating a comprehensive list of all of the things
you want for your home. With these specifications and drawings,
we can do the groundwork and provide you with a cost estimate.
This estimate will include:
- Materials we supply.
- Other envelope building materials per your specifications.
- Finish materials.
- Labor estimates.
- A list of potential installers.
GREEN DEPOT is establishing a relationship with
Energy Star Homes Northwest
by promoting Energy Star qualified homes and products. We offer
verification services to member builders of the Energy Star Homes
Northwest program interested in qualifying their residential project(s)
as certified Energy Star Homes.
ENERGY STAR Homes NW
The Energy Star label is awarded to homes that have
been independently verified to be at least 15% more efficient than
the state or local energy codes in the Northwest. These savings
are typically achieved through a combination of:
- Tight duct systems
- Upgraded heating and air conditioning systems
- Energy Star qualified windows
- Increased insulation
- High-efficiency water heating equipment
- Energy Star qualified appliances and lighting.
Where does GREEN DEPOT come in?
To have your Energy Star qualified home verified and certified, a verifier
inspects your project on-site and collects all the information needed
to verify that it meets Energy Star Home standards. During this
process, the verifier directly confirms the proper selection and
installation of specifications with nominal values and labels (e.g.,
insulation, windows, appliances).
The verifier reviews the building
components and compliance requirements and submits all information
to the State Certification Organization for Energy Star certification.
The verifier charges a fee that includes verification services and
Energy Star certification.
Enjoy the peace of mind in knowing you built and/or own a home
that's energy efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
